This morning 3 Black Swallowtails emerged from their chrysalis! All 3 were female.

Took pictures and measured the mystery caterpillars, one had just molted and was about 1 cm long. The other molted later in the day.

I haven't even seen the Spicebush Swallowtail caterpillars in a couple of days. They tend to hide in leave in the daytime and eat at night. I should check on they soon and make sure they are ok.
Saw mostly Monarchs today, and a Painted Lady. Late in the afternoon I saw a Tiger Swallowtail too. Still haven't seen another Red Spotted Purple, or Questions Mark or Comma, or a Viceroy at all this year. I'd really like to get some pictures of them.
