Its been nice and sunny out today! Lots of Hackberry butterflies on the rotting bananas. Monarchs laying eggs, Eastern Tailed Blues flying around, a Pearl Crescent nectaring on flowers. No swallowtails though. Lots of caterpillars everywhere, well, Monarch and Black Swallowtail caterpillars anyway - I got them all over my plants. I took a bunch of pictures today, I'll post them as they get developed.
Yesterday the hops vine I ordered from Edible Landscaping came in. Hops aren't native to the US, but are a good host plant for a few butterfly species. I doubt I'll get anything laying eggs on it this year though, but hopefully next year I will.
I found a small white skipper on the last of my daisys, I took a picture. It sat really still and let me photograph it.
