We went to the Shaw Nature Reserve today. I saw a few butterflies, but not as many as I had hoped to. I saw a Red-Spotted Purple, the first I've seen this year. Also, a Tiger Swallowtail, Monarchs, a dark swallowtail I couldn't identify. There were quite a few Pearl Crescent/checkerspots flying around too.
At home, more Monarchs were flying around the garden and #1 had pupated overnight.
A few weeks ago I had found some eggs on a milkweed leaf that looked like droplets of water. One of them hatched today, and I think it was an assasin bug. I took pictures.
